The Tecnos I/O rack - flat cables, cards and supply

2 September 2026. From the LISTA DISPOSITIVI device-list section of the wiring diagram (a separate 14-page section, pages 1-4 read) and the drawing cover sheet.

The twelve flat cables

The device list itemises every ribbon in the machine, with its Tecnos part number, type and the sheet it appears on.

CN15 025TEC0008 TC10/050 COLL. OUT C3-OUT C1 E IN C3-IN C1 34.0

TC26/225 reads as 26-way, 225 mm. TC10/nnn as 10-way at 250, 350 or 500 mm.

What this settles

Four 26-way ribbons carry all I/O to the controller: CN1, CN4, CN10, CN13. These are the four latched IDC headers photographed on the rack front panel. The marker-pen label read as "CN3 OUT 25-48" is almost certainly CN13.

The eight 10-way ribbons chain the I/O cards together - card C1 to card C3 - which finally explains "N.SCHEDE I/O" 3 in Param/pargen.prm. Three I/O cards, daisy-chained, presenting four 26-way ribbons to the controller.

The arithmetic closes: 4 ribbons x 24 points = 96 = 48 inputs + 48 outputs, matching the EIN1-48 / AUS1-48 numbering on sheets 16-28.

Sheet 33 carries all six INPUT modules; sheet 34 carries all six OUTPUT modules. Confirmed from device-list page 12, which puts UF1-UF6 at 34.0 / 34.3 / 34.6 (twice). Both sheets are needed for the ribbon-to-module assignment.

Sheet Modules 26-way to CNC 10-way chains
33 IF1 (C3) + IF2, IF3 (C1); IF4 (C3) + IF5, IF6 (C1) CN1 = IN 1-24, CN4 = IN 25-48 CN2, CN3, CN5, CN6
34 UF1 (C3) + UF2, UF3 (C1); UF4 (C3) + UF5, UF6 (C1) CN10 = OUT 1-24, CN13 = OUT 25-48 CN11, CN12, CN14, CN15

This matches the rack front panel exactly: CN1 IN 1-24 and CN4 IN 25-48 in the left column, the two output ribbons in the right. The marker-pen label read as "CN3 OUT 25-48" is CN13.

-CNC. 025TEC0022 POSIZIONATORE M68K TECNOS, M68K, 24Vca 35.1
-CNC. 025TEC0009 CONN. ALIMENT. CNC TECNOS CN5P 35.1

🔴 The Tecnos runs on 24 V AC. That identifies the orange 5-way pluggable terminal on the rack as a 24 V AC feed, answered from the drawing without probing. CN5P is the 5-pole power connector.

"Posizionatore M68K" is the product name, matching the M68K_99AC_01 board silkscreen. Sheet 35 is the CNC power sheet.

-CAR1 005TEA0062 CARPENTERIA - SUPPORTO SYNCRO-MONOSCHEDA describes the mounting as holding a Syncro and a Monoscheda, matching the two daughterboards seen in the rack photos.

Machine data, from the cover sheet

Supply 400 V 50 Hz, 60.3 A, 41.8 kVA
Line size 4 x 10 mm2, IN = 40 A, ID = 0.1 A
Standard I.E.C., Icu min 5 kA
Machine IDW280
Description PANTOGRAFO 10.5Hp CAMBIO UTENSILE, INVERTER 10.5Hp, PIANO SCANALATO + POMPA 250m3/h
TEA serial «serial redacted»
Drawn F.S., 18/04/02, project TIDW0006, order 4190 16/04/02

10.5 Hp is 7.8 kW, consistent with the 8 kW HSD spindle and the 7.5 kW VS-606V7 VFD. The table is a grooved vacuum table with a 250 m3/h pump.

⚠️ Serial number discrepancy. The handwritten note on the cover reads MAT S/N «serial redacted». CLAUDE.md records MAT S/N «serial redacted». The handwriting is ambiguous but the two are not the same. Check against the machine's own plate and correct whichever is wrong.

Document structure - the "40 sheets" question

The cover's REVISIONE FOGLI table shows a Q.E. section of 40 sheets, plus an SGM section and a DISTINTA section, and the device-list pages are numbered "Pag. n ... 14 Pg."

So the PDF holds roughly 55 to 66 pages in total, of which the schematics are 40. The "66 pages" figure in early notes and the "40 sheets" correction in wiring-diagram-index.md were measuring different things and both are defensible. Use "40 Q.E. schematic sheets plus a 14-page device list".

The device list is a cross-reference index for the whole drawing - every component with its part number and the sheet it appears on. Worth capturing all 14 pages eventually, though not urgent.
