Naming

There are two enclosures on this machine and for several weeks both were being called "the cabinet". That caused real confusion and at least one wrong answer, so the words are now fixed.

Term	Means
Housing	The rack enclosure that holds the Monoscheda controller card and its Syncro daughterboard. Its front panel carries the four 26-way ribbon headers and the four AXIS D-subs. After the retrofit it is the Mesa Housing
Cabinet	The outer electrical cabinet (Q.E.) the Housing sits inside — the drives, contactors, breakers, transformers, the DIN-rail I/O modules and the terminal strips
Field	Everything past the cabinet's Harting connectors — the machine junction boxes, the pendant, and every sensor, valve and switch on the machine

⚠️ The IF1–IF6 and UF1–UF6 I/O modules are in the cabinet, on DIN rail — not in the Housing. The four ribbons run from the Housing's front panel out to them.

Other conventions

IF.n / OF.n	The machine's own input and output addresses, 1–48 each
E1nn / A2nn	The wire number for input IF.n / output OF.n
=BM+X3, X4, X5, X43	Machine junction boxes. A device's terminal group names the physical box it lives in
CONN.X / CONN.Y / CONN.Z / CONN.S	The four axis D-subs. CONN.S is the spindle, not the carousel

Italian terms that matter

The machine's documentation is Italian throughout, and Italian search terms return better results than English for Masterwood and Tecnos material.
